Privacy policy

Amun (“we”) provides a mobile app that processes photos of Egyptian artifacts. This page describes what we collect and why.

Account

You can explore as a guest or create an account. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. If you register, we store the identifiers needed to sign you in and to attach scans to your user ID.

Scan photos and results

When you run a scan, the image and job metadata are uploaded so our processing pipeline can detect text and objects. Results (translations, matches, confidence) are stored so you can reopen them in your archive. Do not scan photos you are not allowed to process.

Infrastructure processors

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions) and GPU workers that read job records in order to run models. Mobile subscriptions, when you buy them, go through Apple or Google and RevenueCat. Those companies process data under their own terms.

Device permissions

The camera and photo library are used only when you capture or pick an image. We do not need your location to translate a photo.

Retention and deletion

You can sign out in the app. To delete an account and associated scans, use the in-app account controls if present, or email support (see the support page). We keep data as long as the account exists or as needed to operate the service and meet legal duties.

Children

Amun is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account for a child under the age required in your country.
